Engineering firm’s assets up for sale

THE assets of Runcorn-based engineering company ASM (Accessories) are set to be auctioned off.

Lindsey Cooper and Ben Woolrych from the Manchester office of Baker Tilly were appointed as liquidators to the company, which made component parts for walking frames and invalid aids, earlier this month. The company had been trading for 60 years.

Baker Tilly has since appointed Edward Symmons to auction off its assets, including dozens of specialist machines, residual metal supplies and the company’s vehicles. These include a milk float that was used to relay stock and materials between its two sites.

Andrew Pointon of Edward Symmons said: “There remains an appetite from overseas bidders for this sort of specialist plant and machinery, and we are hopeful that the milk float will also find a future business use within the region.”

An online auction for the assets will conclude on July 6.
