Appointments: Nobles appoints first MD; Express Solicitors; and more

NOBLES Construction has appointed former Cruden managing director Alan Davies as its first MD.

The Liverpool-based company said Davies has been recruited to oversee the day-to-day running of the business and lead its growth strategy in sectors such as health, housing and transport.

The company said that it expects its annual turnover to increase to more than 30% this year to over £20m, while staff numbers have grown from 50 to 62.

Davies will report to a new executive board consisting of Nobles’ existing directors Peter Linford, John Watson and Peter Scarisbrick.

He said: “The board’s decision to appoint an MD for the first time shows how far the business has come. I now have the opportunity to help the business realise its undoubted potential and I can’t wait to get started.”

Director Peter Linford said: “Alan is exactly the right man to take us to the next level of our strategic development.”

RICHARD Lowery has joined personal injury law firm Express Solicitors as an associate partner.

Mr Lowery will lead its nine-strong employment liability team, taking over from partner Sharon Denby, who now heads the firm’s cost department.

He said: “With the changes in law firm ownership, these are uncertain times for many UK firms, who may be seeking to consolidate.  

“When I was looking for a new role, it was refreshing to find a firm that was committed to expanding.”

Express Solicitors currently employs 80 people, including six partners and 36 fee earners.  It specialises in personal injury,  medical and clinical negligence claims.

ONE Marketing Communications has recruited three new members of staff.

The Sale-based agency has brought in Joe Kennedy from Cheetham Bell JWT as a senior account manager on its advertising teamm while

Sarah Crossley and Laura Hawthorne have joined its PR division as account manager and account executive respectively.
