Appointments: Senior moves at BDP; MAS; RSM Tenon

ARCHITECTS and designers BDP has elected Manchester-based David Cash as its new chairman.

Mr Cash, who joined the firm in its Preston office in 1980, has for the last four years been leading its international growth plan, opening offices in  India, China and the UAE.

He said: “My role as chairman will be to give direction to the firm for the next few years. As a company we always to need to be improving and evolving in these changing times, rather than be afraid of change we need to embrace it.

“If I can take BDP from being a UK-based company that does projects overseas to a world-based organisation, I would feel like I had made my mark.”

Mr Cash takes over the role from Tony McGuirk who has chaired BDP for six years.

The firm has also appointed Heather Wells as group finance director and Steve Merridew, who is also based at the firm’s Manchester office, as head of sustainability.

THE Manufacturing Advisory Service has appointed Phil Jones as head of supply chain development in the North West.

In his new role Mr Jones will identify supply chain opportunities that will help both SMEs and large enterprises develop their businesses. He will work across all sectors but with a particular focus on targeting advanced manufacturers with high growth potential, helping them create a sustainable supply chain.

Before joining MAS, he spent three years at wind turbine producer Vestas Wind Systems, and also spent 16 years in the aerospace sector at General Electric and Honeywell Aerospace.

RSM Tenon has named Vinodh Josh as northern head of its financial management service line to strengthen and enhance its offering to corporate and private clients.

Mr Josh’s remit includes offices in Chorley, Leeds, Manchester, Rochdale, Stoke, Sunderland.
