Seneca invests in Warrington firm

INVESTMENT firm Seneca has taken a significant minority stake in Warrington-based facilities management firm Groundlevel for an undisclosed sum.

The business, which was founded by Lewis Nunn in 1997, will use the investment alongside new debt from Barclays Bank and FW Capital to finance growth.

Mr Nunn said: “Having recently secured a number of significant contracts the capital provided by Seneca and our debt funding partners will secure the continued expansion of the business.

“Our continued focus on providing a high quality integrated facilities management service stands us out from the competition and is at the heart of our growth which has now taken us past the 100 employee mark.”

The Seneca investment was led by Tim Murphy and Richard Manley.

Murphy, who will take a seat on Groundlevel’s board, said: “Lewis and his fellow director Malcolm Agar have developed a great team at Groundlevel, their enthusiasm  and professionalism clearly drives the growth and we are delighted to be able to provide the capital to support their continued expansion.”

Paula Smith at EOS Law in Manchester advised on the deal.
