ITALIAN-headquartered car parts firm Reflex & Allen UK has acquired Rhyl-based competitor Energi Products for an undisclosed sum.

Energi Products supplies air-brake coils, electrical coils, EBS coils, plugs, sockets and other parts used in articulated trucks and trailers. The company employed around 15 staff and was owned by Helen Williams.

Reflex & Allen was started in Modena in Italy in 1998 and has a worldwide turnover of £60m. Its £30m UK arm is based at Bodelwyddan in Denbighshire and has a workforce of around 200 people.

Renzo Gibellini, Reflex & Allen CEO said: “The addition of Energi Products Ltd to the Reflex & Allen Group will substantially increase the range of products and services available to the UK and the European aftermarket.

“With its value positioning in the aftermarket, Energi Products provides Reflex & Allen an improved coverage of the market.

Baker Tilly and Hill Dickinson advised Reflex & Allen on the deal.

Baker Tilly partner Gary Houghton said: “We are very pleased to have been involved in this transaction. The acquisition is an important strategic step for Reflex & Allen.”

Paul King, corporate partner at Hill Dickinson said: “Having acted for Reflex & Allen for a number for years it is encouraging to see them expanding when some manufacturers are struggling to maintain their position.

“I have no doubt that this acquisition will create significant opportunities for both companies.”
