trg invests £100k in opening first NW branch

LOGISTICS company trg has invested £100,000 in opening its first North West branch in Ardwick, Manchester and is recruiting drivers to meet demand.
The Manchester branch of the £24m turnover company opened for business on July 1 and it has already secured several new contracts for driver supply programmes.
trg employs three office staff in the new branch and is in the process of building a bank of drivers, which it expects to grow to between 170 and 220 people in next 12 months.
Nick Gordon, chief executive of London-headquartered trg, said: “As soon as we established a regional presence in the North West, we were able to obtain some new business contracts locally and we now have implemented an expanded programme of driver recruitment in this area to support this business as well as potential new business opportunities.”
The company said the new branch is an important part of its strategic plans to develop a national branch network as it expands its UK business activities, across all its business sectors.
“The speedy success of the Manchester branch, achieving new driver supply contracts within days of opening, is confirmation of the viability of our plans to develop a national network. We are now actively looking to open more regional branches in the very immediate future,” added Mr Gordon.
