Appointments: Scientific Games; Bibby Distribution & more

SCIENTIFIC Games Corporation, the Nasdaq-listed US-based has appointed Robert White as chief operating Officer of its gaming division.
 
Mr White will retain his existing responsibility for the development of the Gaming division’s overall business strategy, including its social media and merger and acquisition strategy, while also taking on responsibility for content and product development, yield management and corporate marketing.
 
This new role is part of the integration of The Global Draw, Games Media and Barcrest. Previously he was vice president and managing director of IGT-UK, leading the sale of IGT’s Barcrest subsidiary to Scientific Games.

Based in Chadderton near Oldham, Mr White said: “I am excited about the future of the gaming division, as new forms of game content and technology provide the opportunity to continue to innovate within an already well-established and diverse group offering.”
 
Ian Timmis, chief executive of the Gaming division, said, “Robert has impressive business experience, including his successful career at IGT.

“He has been an integral part of the senior management team since the Barcrest acquisition and in this new leadership role is ideally positioned to contribute to the continued success of the gaming division.”

BIBBY Distribution, the logistics division of the £1bn turnover Liverpool-based mini-conglomerate has appointed Paul Kavanagh as chief operating officer .

Reporting directly to chief executive Iain Speak, Mr Kavanagh joins from Peel Ports Group where he spent four years, most recently as MD as of its Medway division.

Mr Kavanagh will be based at the company’s Duke Street head office in Liverpool.

LANCASHIRE law firn Harrison Drury has boosted the ranks of its family team with the appointment of solicitor Janine Hutson.

She joins the Preston firm after seven years at Napthens. She specialises in advising clients on the division of assets as part of a divorce or separation, and making arrangements for contact with children.

Damian Baron, head of family law at Harrison Drury, said: “Harrison Drury has witnessed significant growth over the last two years and, inevitably, having a larger client base has generated more demand from our clients for specialist family legal advice.”
