Tributes paid to Albert Dock pioneer Leonard Eppel

LEONARD Eppel, founder of Arrowcroft, the property and investment company behind the regeneration of Liverpool’s Albert Dock, has died aged 84.
Mr Eppel died on Sunday August 12 at his London home after a short illness.
In a statement Arrowcroft, which still owns the Albert Dock, said Mr Eppel considered the restoration of the docks to be his greatest acievement – an accomplishment which saw him awarded a CBE.
“He was well known and highly respected throughout the industry and will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues,” the company said.
Outside of business, Mr Eppel, was passionate about football, and followed in his father’s footsteps to become chairman of Millwall FC from 1979 to 1983.
