Appointments: Douglas Scott; Marketing Lancashire, Refresh PR

LEGAL recruiter Douglas Scott has made a double appointment in its Manchester office.

It has hired consultants Zara Niemand and Iona Kobbekaduwe, who both join from William James Recruitment.

Zara Niemand will focus on the commercial law sector and Iona Kobbekaduwe on private practice.

MARKETING Lancashire, the new agency to promote the county as a great place to visit, work and invest, has appointed Ruth Connor as its first chief executive.
 
The former managing director of coach holidays group Shearings will work with the organisation’s chairman, Lancashire restrauteur Paul Heathcote.

She said: “Lancashire is a fantastic place with a huge amount to offer visitors and investors, but it doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. 
 
“Marketing Lancashire is a new organisation with the task of harnessing that potential and I’m confident we will make a very positive impact over the years to come.”

PR agency, Refresh PR, has boosted its team with the appointment of  Tom Lay and Gemma Cannon as senior account executives.

Tom joins Refresh PR having previously worked in the built environment sector, and is working in the Manchester agency’s B2B team.

With more than four years’ agency experience, Gemma Cannon joins from Cube3 and will focus on the agency’s food and drink and home interest clients.
