Property briefs: Caddick completes Chapelford supermarket; lettings in Rawtenstall and Altrincham

CADDICK Construction has completed a 40,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s at the former RAF Burtonwood site in Chapelford, near Warrington.

Designed by the Manchester studio of architects BDP the £4m supermarket forms part of a larger master plan by the firm for a new centre at Chapelford Urban Village.

Mark Slocombe, project architect at BDP’s Manchester Studio, said: “I have been involved with the Chapelford project since its inception three years ago, working together with other BDP urbanists and architects to produce the master plan.

“It is therefore very satisfying to see the completion of the new Sainsbury’s store, which is now open for business and trading well.

“Work is now underway for the remainder of the project, which includes the creation of a new primary school, a health centre and a public park.”
