SALFORD construction group GPL Civil Engineering has lined up a new funding package with Santander.

The family-owned firm, which works with rail, civil, utility and construction clients, plans to use the cash to fund future growth.

Santander and GPL would not reveal the size of the banking facility.

The firm grew turnover from £6m to £9m in 2011 and expects to hit sales of £10m this year.

Managing director Sean Gallagher said: “The business continues to go from strength-to-strength and we are looking forward to building our relationship with Santander and maintaining our excellent position in the marketplace.”

Dave Parr, regional director for Santander Corporate Banking, said: “GPL is example of a strong, growing company and we are delighted to be supporting it.

“As well as a fantastic local company, it is an exciting opportunity to help a family business.”
