Property briefs: Cumbrian pub sold; Wirral properties up for auction

THE Manchester office of hotel and licensed property specialist Colliers International has completed the sale of a Cumbrian pub.

The Bridge Inn at Santon Bridge in Eskdale has changed hands for £180,000.

Colliers was acting for Lesley Rhodes-Morrow and her husband John, who are retiring. It has been bought by Len Brumby from Eccles, Manchester.

Haydn Spedding, Collier’s associate director for hotels, said: “The Bridge Inn has always been a very successful and busy residential inn, having 16 en-suite letting bedrooms complimented by a restaurant, bar and large function room.

“This high turnover residential inn is held on lease from Marston’s Brewery. The sale of the lease of The Bridge Inn follows a number of recent sales of similar, high turnover residential inns held on lease by Colliers International including the iconic Horse and Farrier and The Salutation, both of which are in the Cumbrian village of Threlkeld.”

WIRRAL property auction house, Smith and Sons, has 18 residential and commercial buildings on its books for next month’s auction.

The sale includes houses in Bromborough and Eastham and a four-storey listed office building in Hamilton Square, Birkenhead.

Auctioneer Chris Johnson said: “Whilst the number of properties available are lower than usual, we do have a number of strong lots, and are keen to emphasise our focus on quality rather than quantity.”

The auction will be held at 2pm on September 19 at the Village Hotel in Bromborough.
