Inventive swaps vodka for rum

INVENTIVE Leisure, the group behind the Revolution bar chain, is preparing to open a new venue on Peter St in Manchester.
It has invested £1.4m turning the former Squares pub into a Revolucion De Cuba, a rum-themed bar.
Peter St is undergoing something of a renaissance after several years in the doldrums. Brewdog has also opened a bar in the street and Trof is planning another outlet in what was Brannigans.
The 15,000 sq ft, two-storey, venue will open in October and will be the largest of Inventive’s portfolio of Cuban-inspired venues.
Creating around 100 new jobs, the flagship bar will offer a cocktail menu, Cuban and Latin American-inspired food and live music. The will also be a “Rare Rum Store” in the basement.
General Manager, Ronnie Timmermans, said: “We’re confident that our stylish and fun Latin-inspired dining and rum experience offers something for everyone and will be well received by Manchester’s bar goers and diners.
“We’ve entirely transformed the venue with authentic Cuban-style interior, right down to the details, so that customers walking through the door are instantly transported to our glorious world of rum and Havana in its heyday.”
