WARRINGTON housebuiler Arley Homes has started work on 15 properties in Wilmslow.

It says The Oaks will offer buyers a selection of our-bedroom semi-detached and five-bedroom detached family homes.

The development is just off Dean Row, on the site of the former Oaklands Primary school.

Managing director John Cosgrave said: “This is an absolutely fantastic location and is likely to be hugely popular with families and young professional alike. We will be offering both four and five bedroom properties with a variety of internal layouts to meet demand from these potential buyers.”

Prices are likely to range from £335,000 to £660,000.

WORKSHOP Properties has unveiled its latest commercial development – a collection of units aimed at creative firms in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Three-storey Swan Square, on the corner of Tib Street and Swan Street, has 14 units ranging in size from 1,500 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft. Rents start at £12/sq ft.

Workshop’s managing director Iftikhar Gillan said:  “I wanted to create the same environment as we have done in Hilton Square for young creative and fashion businesses to thrive and grow through not only providing quality working space for them but by helping them to make the most of their business and talents.”

The space was designed by Jonathan Davidson at Q2 Architects. Five of the 14 units are already let.

LIVERPOOL One landlord Grosvenor has said that eight brands, totaling 64,844 sq ft, are to open new stores, or have opened in the last six weeks.

Internacionale, Office, Boux Avenue and Card Factory will open new stores by Christmas. They follow Starbucks, Stockton’s and Belle Maison, all three of whom opened earlier in the summer.

Miles Dunnett, head of asset management, Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, said: “These latest brands are great additions to Liverpool ONE, and build on its well-established mix of UK and international brands, which will be joined this autumn by the first Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in the world.

“This has been a great year for Liverpool ONE, which goes from strength-to-strength.  We have just welcomed our 100,000,000th visitor, footfall and sales are up by 1.4% and 2.3% respectively versus 2011.”

MANCHESTER developer and investor, Property Alliance Group [PAG] has acquired a former MFI furniture showroom in Hertfordshire and sold it on to a supermarket.
 
The group has secured outline planning for a food store at the 1.2-acre site in Hemel Hempstead.

Development director Jonathan Mather said: “We are delighted to have secured planning for this site which has facilitated the sale to a major discount food operator.

“The site’s size, transport links and large car park make it a perfect choice for this type of retailer and we are confident that it will benefit from this new location and having a presence in the area.”

LIVERPOOL auction house Venmore is targeting student landlords with its September sale.

It has 42 lots at the auction on September 13 which consist of a mix of residential and commercial properties as well as development opportunities.
