Lufthansa Manchester flights hit by cabin crew strike

INDUSTRIAL action in Germany is disrupting several services operated by Lufthansa from Manchester.

The airline has cancelled one Frankfurt flight and two to Munich as a result of the 24-hour strike by the UFO union in Germany, which is causing major disruption.

Globally, Lufthansa has been forced to cancel 1,200 flights today and over the weekend amid the ongoing row with cabin crew over pay and job security.

The union, which represents more than 60% of Lufthansa’s 19,000 cabin crew, argues that its members have had no pay rise for three years. It also wants guarantees that Lufthansa will not outsource jobs or use more temporary workers, as it has at the new Will Brandt Berlin airport.

Details of the flight cancellations are being regularly updated on www.lufthansa.com in the ‘current travel information’ section.
