Appointments: New hospital director at Spire Liverpool, SeaKing takes on apprentices

SPIRE Liverpool Hospital has appointed Alison Peake as its new hospital director.
Peake has spent almost 40 years working in clinical services, her first 20 years were spent in the NHS, following which she worked as a director of nursing and then head of clinical services in the private sector.
In her new role she will be responsible for the overall management of the hospital and looking at opportunities for the private hospital to develop new treatments or offer new health services.
She said: “I am delighted with my new role and I am looking forward to leading the hospital. In particular, I’m excited about continuing to expand the range of services the hospital offers and assessing the latest state of the art treatments.”
Spire Hospital Liverpool employs over 230 clinical, nursing and administrative staff.

SEAKING Electrical has appointed five apprentices to join its intensive new starter program.
The Birkenhead based firm – part of the SeaKing Group – is a marine and industrial electrical engineering specialist.
A total of 20 apprentices have progressed into full-time employment with the firm.
The new recruits will be looking to secure NVQ Level Three qualifications alongside a core BTEC national diploma in electrical engineering.
They are: Macauley Churchill and Liam Charles of Prenton, both 17; Louis Holbrook of Saughall Massie, 21; Andrew Sharkey of Rainford, 18; and James Whitby of Upton, 22.
SeaKing Electrical’s managing director Dave Gillam said: “Our apprenticeship program has proved to be a resounding success and we are determined to continue this form.
“We are always looking for keen, enthusiastic recruits who show a real willingness to learn. It is extremely important to the ethos of the SeaKing Group, and also for the future of the firm, that we nurture, encourage and develop young talent.”
He added: “Our apprenticeship program will equip them with the tools they need to secure lifelong employment. There has always been a strong desire for the SeaKing Group to provide this sort of service. It is one of the main ways we can give back to the local community and address our corporate social responsibility.”
