4G phone services available ‘by Christmas’

EVERYTHING Everywhere, the group behind Orange and T-Mobile, is promising 4G mobile access in Manchester and Liverpool by Christmas.
It says the new service will give customers access to superfast internet on their phones.
The company, which has been renamed EE, is trialling the service in London, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham, before rolling it out to a further 12 by the end of the year.
Martin Stiven, Vice President of business to business, said: “Businesses in the North West will soon be able to take advantage of the UK’s first superfast 4G mobile network, enabling them to become more productive, efficient and flexible.
“4G from EE is already showing test speeds five times faster than 3G, making working on the go easier than ever before.4G also lets employees do things they could never do before.
“This includes quickly and easily accessing remote desktop applications, video conferencing on their phones, streaming HD clips on their tablets or collaborating on big documents online. 4G will enable North West-based businesses to become more mobile than ever before, transforming business practices in the UK and helping save time and money.”
The service will be availble on HTC, Samsung, Nokia and Huawei devices. Apple’s iPhone 5 has not yet been confirmed.
