MedicX buys Cheshire surgery for £2.6m

THE MedicX Fund, a Surrey-based investor in medical centres, has agreed to buy a GP surgery near Congleton for £2.6m.
The 10,000 sq ft centre at Scholar Green, near Congleton, should be finished next year, seven years after first being mooted by Central and Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust.
Its progress has been slowed by planning wrangles and NHS cutbacks.
It was part-funded by the construction of 56 homes close to the site and is being delivered by Leeds-based Oakapple Primary Care.
Stock market-listed MedicX said the centre will be let to one GP practice on a 25-year lease.
It now has 107 properties, of which 96 are complete and 11 are under construction. The annualised rent roll for all properties is now £24.7m.
