MANCHESTER creative studio The Neighbourhood has teamed up with advertising agency Red C and film company The Mob to create an autumn campaign for home shopping firm Marisota.

The campaign, uses online, and TV to launch the new season’s collection. Red C’s creative concept for the campaign was to take the viewer on a journey through the Marisota designer’s sketchpad where the clothing range is brought to life through live action and animation.

The Neighbourhood’s creative director, Jon Humphreys, said: “We loved the idea of bringing this world inside a sketchbook to life and worked closely with talented director Chris Gaffey from the Mob Films to realise this vision combining Chris’s live action footage photography, paper and fabric textures and animated drawings.

“The first commercial to air features autumn collections but we created the animations in such a way that we could flexibly adapt for future ads such as the forthcoming winter and Christmas party season.”

Red C’s managing director and creative director, Julian Gratton, said: “The concept we devised for Marisota is completely unlike any other fashion advert you’ll see and as a result called for a unique approach.

“Teaming up with The Mob and The Neighbourhood has resulted in a commercial that we are all incredibly proud of and my hat goes off to The Neighbourhood and their team of animators for helping us achieve our vision of creating a great looking advert that has the ability to be tailored to the changing seasons with ease.”

MADE in Manchester has completed a documentary about female gambling for BBC Radio 4.

Lucky Be a Lady Tonight, hosted by former Sky News anchor Marverine Cole, will air on Monday September 24 at 8pm.

Producer Ashley Byrne said: “Marverine hears from women who see it as a bit of fun, from the more competitive and from those for whom it’s got out of hand.

“This is a personal journey for Marv who had problems with gambling herself a few years ago.”

The programme is the latest in a string of docs for Radio 4 from Made in Manchester this year. In January the company recruited Dan Snow for ‘The Lost World of the Suffragettes’ while in May the firm worked with Michael Portillo on a programme about the Beeching railway cuts.
