Appointments: Laytons; Certero & more

LAW firm Laytons has appointed Christine Barker as sole managing partner of its Manchester office.

She previously held the management role jointly with David Sefton, who intends to focus on his commercial practice.

Miss Barker will continue with her active family aaw practice in addition to her enhanced management responsibilities. John Gavan will continue as chairman of the office and head of its corporate practice.

IT software specialist Certero has appointed two new business development managers to drive sales across the UK.

The Warrington firm provides IT solutions for Software Asset Management (SAM), and has hired Simon Vessey and Penny Horne to roll out business development campaigns nationwide.

Mr Vessey, who has moved from Licence Dashboard, is charged with driving sales in the north while Ms Horne, formerly of LANDesk, will focus on the southern regions.

Managing director John Lunt said: “Simon and Penny both bring significant experience and expertise helping to further strengthen our sales force.”

PROPERTY consultancy, WHR has appointed Jessica Haigh as a graduate surveyor.  Jessica joins the firm’s professional team and will be working with partner, Gareth Buckley on the rating and lease consultancy side.

She is the 24th member of staff at the Manchester firm.
