Bury puts development sites on the market

BURY Council is putting two of its strategic development sites on the market.

It has hired Drivers Jonas Deloitte to market Chamberhall and the second phase of the Townside development.

It said the 59-acre Chamberhall site, close to the town, provides an opportunity for high quality offices or research and development facilities.

The smaller seven-acre Townside site is adjacent to the town hall. The first phase of the development was brought forward by Bury Council in partnership with Manchester’s Ask Developments.

Councillor Tony Isherwood, Bury Council’s cabinet member for finance and resources, said: “In difficult times Bury have been able to buck the trend in successfully delivering major new office, residential and retail schemes in and adjacent to the town centre.

“These two sites are pivotal in terms of maintaining the momentum and will further boost the local economy in Bury.”

DJD partner Simon Bedford said: “We’re extremely pleased to be advising Bury Council on these two sites, both of which provide potential occupiers, developers and investors the opportunity to be part of North Manchester’s success story.”
