Ensor scraps CMS Tools sale

ENSOR Holdings, the AIM-listed building materials group, has scrapped plans to sell its CMS Tools division to a management team.

In June the Wythenshawe-based group said it was disposing of the unit, which sells tools to the roofing industry, because the sector had been badly hit by the downturn.

But now the business, based in Normanton, West Yorkshire, will remain part of the group, but Ensor has given no explanation for the change of heart.

In a brief stock market statement the business said: “In our preliminary announcement of results, made on June 15, we reported that we had agreed to sell CMS Tools, a subsidiary of the company, to a
management buyout team.

“The sale is no longer proceeding and the business will now remain part of the Ensor Group.”
