Cricket retailer Romida stumped

A SMALL sports retail business has been put up for sale after falling into administration.

Rochdale-based Romida Sports has four sportswear shops, specialising in cricket clothing and equipment, based at Rochdale, Maghull, Brighouse and Leatherhead in Surrey.

The family-owned business has been trading for more than 30 years and employs 10 people.

Kerry Bailey and Jon Newell of PKF were appointed joint administrators of Romida Sports on Thursday.

Kerry Bailey, a partner in PKF’s corporate recovery team in Manchester, said: “Whilst efforts were made by Romida over the last few weeks to turn the business around and secure investment, the management took the decision to appoint administrators.”

PKF will listen to offers for the entire business or separate units.
