Senator scores with FA deal

LANCASHIRE furniture group Senator International has completed a £600,000 contract to supply the Football Association’s new training centre which opens today.

Senator International, based in Altham, has kitted out St George’s Park, a new £100m centre for coaching and development in Burton-upon-Trent.

As part of the deal it is an official sponsor of the site and plans to use this relationship to promote the business which turned over £100m last year.

The manufacturer, which also has a facility in the US, was founded in 1976 by chairman Colin Mustoe and employs more than 1,000 staff.

It has previously supplied the new Wembley Stadium in London, Asrenal’s Emirates Stadium, and Manchester United. It has also worked with Microsoft in India, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Airport and Barclay’s Bank in Kenya.

Managing director Robert Mustoe said: “Working in partnership with the FA on this contract has been very rewarding, not least to see this fantastic facility for English football take shape and to play our part in it.

“English football is a global brand and St George’s Park will be recognised around the world as a centre of excellence.

“At Senator we work with some of the most talented designers in the world to produce a world-class range of furniture that can be adapted to fit all requirements of our clients. We are growing very quickly in overseas markets, particularly the United States, the Middle East and India.

“The fact Senator is now an official partner of English football will help us build on our growing reputation for quality and delivery, on time and to budget.”
