Online stronger than franchises at Printing.com

PRINT firm Printing.com said it has seen strong online sales in the past six months.
But in a brief pre-close trading update the Manchester business described its performance as “more challenged” across the company’s franchise network.
It added: “The previously reported initiative, centred on transitioning the Printing.com formula into a hybrid online/offline service, was completed towards the close of the reporting period.
“We are optimistic that this initiative will better enable the company to compete in the UK and Irish market, albeit to date it is too early to accurately predict the impact.
“We believe this transition, along with the company’s various other reported initiatives, will make a greater contribution towards revenues and earnings during the second half of the year.”
Interim figures for the six months to September 30 will be announced on November 12.
