Inventive sees thirst for vodka grow

REVOLUTION bar operator Inventive Leisure increased sales and trading profits last year.

Recently-filed accounts for the Tameside-based company, owned by management and private equity firm Alchemy Partners, says it sees a fall in consumer demand as the principal risk.

But despite the state of the wider economy this has not happened.

Trading company Inventive Leisure Services opened four new bars, taking the total to 63 and recorded a 12% sales rise to £106m. Pre-tax profits grew by 13% to £6.1m.

The parent company, Caspian Topco made a £2.9m pre-tax loss, mainly due to interest on loans and overdrafts.

During the period – the year to June – the company continued to roll out its new venture, the Revolucion de Cuba rum bar.

The firm employs 2,427 people, up from 2,216 the previous year. Around 60 are based at the head office in Ashton-under-Lyne.
