Chocolatier expands with £500,000 investment

MANCHESTER patissier and chocolatier Slattery’s has completed a £500,000 revamp of its bakery and shop.

The investment has helped the business increase the number of covers at its restaurant, increase the size of the shop and integrate a bakery and new kitchen.

Managing director John Slattery said: “This is an exciting time for Slattery’s. The improvements to our premises have made a big difference to the way we work. We have also launched our new website earlier this year and on-line sales are steadily improving each week.

“This coupled with us taking a stand at the Manchester Christmas Markets will hopefully make the next few months a very busy and successful time.”

The family-run business, based in Whitefield, was founded in 1967 and now employs 70 staff. The improvements were part-funded by a £250,000 loan from Barclays Corporate Banking, led by relationship director Philippa Brown.
