CHESHIRE-based motor dealership Swansway Group has scored an unexpected sales bonus – exporting car parts made in Germany, back to Germany.
The family-owned company’s Swansway Parts Depot business has sold more than 1,750 parts to German customers in the last 12 months.
The Parts Depot made a profit of £100,000 on turnover of £500,000 after receiving a raft of orders from European customers. Demand has been strongest for Volkswagen parts, which Swansway supplies along with spares for Land Rover, Audi, SEAT, Peugeot, Skoda and Honda.
Ben Conn, director at Crewe-based Swansway Parts Depot, said: “The Parts Depot was implemented to provide our customers with approved parts and accessories for their motor vehicles, with demand continuing to grow for genuine quality parts.
“The current market reflects the automotive sector in general and we are delighted with the response our service has received in Germany – although it does feel slightly strange exporting German goods back into Germany.”
