Barnfield completes new Chop House

LANCASHIRE’S Barnfield Construction has completed a £3.5m restaurant refit in the centre of Manchester.
It has renovated a Victorian building on Albert Square for the Chop House Company owned by Roger Ward and Alister Cookwhich.
The business already runs Mr Thomas’s Chop House and Sam’s Chop House in the city.
The designs for the Grade II-listed building were handled by Manchester architect the Hurd Rolland Partnership.
The building will open on November 8 as an 80-cover restaurant, while plans for a boutique hotel will follow.
It will also have a function room, with capacity for 100 people, which will seek wedding business from the nearby Manchester Town Hall and registry office.
Mr Ward said: “We are hugely excited at the prospect of giving the city centre’s finest historic square a high-quality dining and drinking destination.
“The restaurant will deliver the best of British hospitality, classic British food with a modern twist, local cast ales and an exceptional wine selection.”
