Oliver Valves expands to meet international demand

KNUTSFORD manufacturer Oliver Valves is looking to take on 20 staff following overseas growth.

The business, which designs and builds valves for the world’s biggest oil and gas firms, is looking for people to join its international business development, design, production and assembly teams.

The move follows business wins in Qatar, Korea and Australia. Earlier this year Oliver Valves expanded its manufacturing facility, taking an additional 47,000 sq ft at Parkgate industrial estate base.

Founder and chairman Michael Oliver said: “We are increasingly doing business overseas but we remain very much a local employer and it critical that we continue to invest in our in skills base in Knutsford. It’s been another fruitful year of growth which – combined with a very healthy order book – means we’re in a strong position to grow the team to support an increase in our production capacity.”

The majority of Oliver Valves’ products are built and tested in the UK using parts machined overseas. The products are used all around the world in all stages of the oil and gas extraction and supply process.

The firm employs about 900 staff and has a turnover of around £40m.
