Acquisitive iomart sees profits leap

WEB hosting company iomart Group, which bought Manchester-based server provider Melbourne for £7m in August , has reported strong half year results.

The Glasgow-based AIM-listed group, which also acquired Liverpool-based Switch Media last year, said revenues in the six months to September 30 had been boosted by more businesses adopting cloud computing.

iomart said sales were up 29% to £19.9m and pre-tax profits 66% to £4.9m.

Chief executive Angus MacSween, said: “This has been another excellent trading period for iomart, delivering substantial growth both organically and through successful acquisitions.

“Trading in the second half of the year has begun well as the trend to outsource more and more services and infrastructure into the cloud accelerates.”
