Tarimo to lead new Yorkshire Bank team

EXPERIENCED banking professional Phil Tarimo has been promoted as the North West regional director at Yorkshire Bank.

His new role sees him take on responsibility for business and private banking centres in Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Blackburn, Bolton, Lancaster and Stafford.
 
Among a raft of new senior appointments at the lender, Ian Walkden, has become head of small and commercial business banking (businesses with an annual turnover up to £25m), Owen Malton, head of corporate banking (for businesses with an annual turnover of more than £25m) and Andrew James, head of business development.

Mr Tarimo said: “This is an exciting time for our business and private Bank following the many supportive measures we recently announced that meet the real needs of trading businesses.
 
“We have developed a team in the North West that is recognised for its ability and experience in working with businesses of all sizes to really understand their needs, the challenges they face, and what support we can offer.
 
“We are looking forward to supporting new and existing businesses as they grow and continue to play a critical role in the North West economy.”
 
Phil Tarimo initially joined Yorkshire Bank in April 2011 in its corporate banking team in the region. Previously he was a director at Investec Growth and Acquisition Finance in the North West.

 His wide range of banking and corporate finance expertise also includes roles with Deloitte, Royal Bank of Scotland and KPMG.
