Wind turbine boss to lead green energy firm WEMS

THE former chief executive of a wind turbine manufacturer has taken the top job at wireless energy management company WEMSinternational.
Paul Summers has joined from London and Wales-based Quiet Revolution with the intention of leading the firm’s overseas and organic growth.
The Stockport-based group provides wireless monitoring services to businesses allowing them to cut energy costs.
Mr Summers replaces Ivan McKeever who left in September after WHEB Partners and Hermes GPE took control of the business in a £13m deal.
He said: “The company has grown considerably since 2009, due to the pioneering nature of its products, which generate substantial cost savings and considerably reduce CO2 emissions.
“The business is in an incredibly strong position as we head into 2013. Our focus will be on encouraging more businesses than ever to adopt our technology, investing in further research and development and growing our overseas presence.”
In the year to the end of July the group’s turnover grew from £11.8m to £12.2m, but the real progress was at the bottom line as operating profits rose from £734,238 to just over £1m and pre-tax profits from £458,071 to £775,857. It employs 80 staff.
Chief technical officer and co-founder Joe Blower, said: “Paul has a proven track record of delivering exceptional results. Coupled with his in-depth technical knowledge and a history of innovation, he is the ideal candidate to propel the business forward.”
