Property briefs: Chancery Place, MediaCityUK, The Sharp Project, and more…

HSB Engineering Insurance (HSB), part of Munich Re, has relocated its customer services centre from Oldham to central Manchester.

It has taken nearly 20,000 sq ft on two-and-a-half floors at Chancery Place.

The firm was advised by the real estate team at the Manchester office of law firm Gateley led by partner, Darren Hughes.

He said: “Chancery Place is a premier address, placing HSB in the heart of Manchester’s thriving insurance market. To complete a deal of this size in the current economic climate is a significant achievement and demonstrates the continued appetite for good quality office space that meets the specific needs of a business.”

MUSIC composing company, The Composer Works, has moved into The Greenhouse at MediaCityUK.

The company is led by managing director Steve Berman, whose industry experience includes working as a music editor in Hollywood and managing composers at a Pinewood Studios-based company.

The firm was previously based at the Digital World Centre at Salford Quays.

Mr Berman said: “We launched in January of this year with six composers and the reception both locally and nationally so far has been encouraging, so we’ve taken on three more composers.

“We’ve already worked locally with CBeebies, BBC Learning and Red Productions as well as Manchester-based advertising agencies. MediaCityUK has already proved itself to be a terrific place for a fledgling company like ours to be based at.”
