Pochin’s FD to step down

JOHN Edwards, the finance director of Middlewich-based construction firm Pochin’s, is to step down.
In a brief stock market statement the company said he had informed the company of his intention to resign and “take up a similar position elsewhere”.
“An announcement concerning the date of his departure and his replacement will be made in due course,” said the company.
In the year to May 31 the group increased sales by 21% to £71.6m, but pre-tax losses nearly doubled to £1.1m. However, in an October trading update it said its main building arm was performing “creditably” and it had a healthy order book.
At the time it said the sale of its concrete pumping business, and new bank facilities with the Royal Bank of Scotland, had given it a stable platform.
