Henri-Lloyd strikes Formula 1 deal

FAMILY-owned fashion and marine clothing brand Henri Lloyd has designed a new range for the Lotus Formula 1 team.

It will produce “travel clothing” for members of the team which will also be available to buy.

In a statement the firm said the partnership will expand over the coming seasons and enable it to develop new markets.

The Salford company, which also sponsors and produces a clothing range for Olympic sailing hero Ben Ainslie, is run by brothers Martin and Paul Strzelecki, sons of founder Henry who died on Boxing Day.

Paul Strzelecki said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Lotus F1 Team, a team that reflects our proud British heritage, product technology and innovation. We are very excited about our future together and wish the team every success in the 2013 season.”

Eric Boullier, team principal at Lotus said: “Henri-Lloyd is a fantastic brand which shares the same passion and ambition as Lotus F1 Team. That our distinctive colours will be represented in the high streets with a quality range of clothing is great for the team, great for Henri-Lloyd and great for discerning consumers.”

During 2011, the company which has subsidiaries in Poland and North America, said profits rose from £72,970 to £657,906 despite a 5% fall in turnover in the year to £25.7m from £27.2m in 2010.
