Cheshire Oaks reports record sales

THE North’s West largest designer outlet, Cheshire Oaks near Ellesmere Port, said Boxing Day 2012 was the best day for trading its 18-year history.
The shopping centre, owned by US group McArthurGlen, said new store openings during 2012, including upmarket accesories brand Lulu Guinness and Ugg Australia, had helped it woo more visitors.
Double digit growth during the peak Christmas period [17th-30th December] was recorded across the accessories category, seeing like-for-like growth 33% year-on-year.
For the same period, like-for like sales for perfumes & cosmetics and designer collections were also up 30% year-on-year and 22% year-on-year, respectively.
Brian Handley, centre manager, said: “Christmas has exceeded our expectations, with record trading in the 18 year history of the centre.
“We had 16 new stores open in 2012, which helped attract more festive shoppers than ever to the unrivalled shopping experience of designer and high street brands for less.”
McArthurGlen’s Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, has more than 145 premium, high street, and designer brands at up to 60% less.
