Hobs toasts latest investment

LABOUR MP Louise Ellman will officially open a new Liverpool production facility today for Hobs Exchange, a document management and scanning company.

Hobs Exchange, a division of Hobs Reprographics,  opened in its home city in 2010. It has taken on the 8,500 sq ft premises at the Glacier Building in Harrington Road, Dingle, to cater for the firm’s growth.

In two years staff numbers have grown from five to 70. Over the past six months £100,000 has been invested in new hardware and software.

Its clients include the NHS as well as firms operating in the construction, legal, financial, manufacturing and utilities sectors.

Across the country Hobs Reprographics has a total of 29 offices and 330 staff and annual sales of more than £25m.

Kieran O’Brien, co-founder and chairman of Hobs, said: “We are really excited for the future of our business. Our plan is to continue the current growth as well as providing an excellent service to our clients, 80% of whom are repeat customers.”

He said the new secure location would allow Hobs Exchange to offer customers scan-on-demand and a digital print room service.
