Daisy in data centre deal

LANCASHIRE business communications group Daisy has been appointed to manage the data centre assets of collapsed IT group 2e2.
London-based Oakley Capital Private Equity has bought the data centres, in Gateshead and Reading, out of administration through a special purpose vehicle called Daisy Data Centre Solutions.
Oakley was founded by Peter Dubens who also chairs Daisy’s board.
Nelson-based Daisy said the deal will double the amount of data centre power resource across the group from two megawatts to four.
Chief executive Matthew Riley said: “This appointment provides 2e2 customers with the opportunity to work with a long-term partner with proven expertise in the growing data and hosting market.
“Through the additional data centre facilities the group is in a position to significantly expand its data and hosting footprint, providing stability to existing 2e2 customers and offering further expertise and resource to Daisy customers.”
