£2m factory for Nutrition Group

FOOD supplement and health product manufacturer Nutrition Group is planning to invest £2m in a new factory in Blackpool.

It is moving from Bispham, north of Blackpool, to a larger, 75,000 sq ft production base just off junction three of the M55.

The company said the move will boost its workforce from 75 to 90, and more jobs are expected.

The new plant is being funded by the business along with a £150,000 grant from the government’s Regional Growth Fund.

Business development director Richard Greathead said: “As we push for more growth over the coming years, having more operational space, and the efficiencies that can be gained from relocation, will be key to our success. We are delighted to have received backing for our vision from the Regional Growth Fund.

“The move will allow us to expand our operation and our workforce and as a company with its roots firmly on the Fylde coast we are extremely proud to be staying in Blackpool.”

Nutrition Group, which is controlled by Preston-based Peter Greathead, was founded in 1993 and has sales of around £10m.
