Bardsley starts student scheme

BARDSLEY Construction is working on a £4.7m contract to convert Arndale House in Liverpool into 160 student apartments.

Bardsley was appointed by Liverpool-based X1 Developments to convert the upper floors of the building in London Road while retaining existing retail units on the ground floor.

The project involves the refurbishment of the first and second floors to create 80 apartments and the addition of a new two-storey roof top extension to provide another 80 apartments.

The scheme also involves Liverpool-based firms DK Architects, civil and structural engineers Sutcliffe and engineering services provider HE Simm and Leeds-based timber frame building specialist Shire Timber.

Bardsley, based in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, plans to complete the scheme in time for the new academic year in September.
