Ibis takes over Blackpool’s Travelodge

IBIS has taken on the former Travelodge in Blackpool’s Talbot Square.

It is operating the 90-bed hotel under the Ibis Styles name, billed as a “designer economy” brand.

The hotel is owned by Bradford Central Hotel, part of Barnsley-based property company The Brook Group, which instructed Focus Hotels Management to find a new operator after Travelodge entered into a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) last year.

Matthew Stephens from Blackpool Central Hotel said; “We are delighted to have achieved such a seamless transition between hotel operators. It is a real coup to have secured an ibis Styles hotel as an operator given their scale and expertise.”

Cllr Gary Coleman, cabinet member for regeneration and urban development in Blackpool, said: “We’ve been working closely with the building owners and it is great that there has been a positive result. It is such an important location in the town centre and I wish the ibis Styles hotel every success in Blackpool.”
