Online growth for Printing.com despite ‘difficult’ trading

TRADING continues to be “difficult” for print shop franchise operation Printing.com.
In a pre-close trading statement the Manchester group, which is listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), said trading had continued to be difficult since it issued a profit warning in February.
However, the company also sells print services online and said this side of the business had shown “significant growth, albeit with an increase in marketing expenditure”.
Sales have also been strong at its new template service, which allows existing franchisees or independent third-party printers and design agencies to use Printing.com’s software with their own branding.
The company will report figures for the year to the end of March on June 10.
