Appointments: Appleyard Lees; Energetix & more

INTELLECTUAL property firm Appleyard Lees has made a double appointment at its Manchester office with the addition of Simon Bradbury and Joanne Goodchild.

Mr Bradbury will take on the role of head of biotechnology, having previously acted as patent counsel for Mondelēz International, where he managed an extensive global patent portfolio and provided a full service practice.

Miss Goodchild has joined the firm as a senior associate and has more than 15 years’ experience as a trade mark adviser to large organisations with household names in the fashion, FMCG, sport and media industries.

Managing partner, Paul Brandon, said: “Simon and Joanne’s appointments will further strengthen our breadth of expertise and ensure clients can benefit from specialist advice in all aspects of intellectual property.”

AIM-listed Cheshire green energy group Energetix has appointed Giovanni Suero as general manager, operations, at its Flow Products division.

Mr Suero joins from Flextronics, one of world’s leading electronics manufacturing services providers, where he has worked since 2001.

Energetix chief executive Peter Richardson said: “Giovanni has proven success in optimising processes and driving productivity throughout his career.

“His record at Flextronics, along with his previous achievements suggest clear ways in which he can add value to our organisation.”

PMI Health Group, the Northwich-based employee healthcare services provider, has strengthened its client support team with the appointment of a former nurse Julie Waddington as an account director.
 
She joins the company from Punter Southall Health & Protection Consulting where she spent six years as a senior consultant. Her new role at PMI Health Group will involve assisting in the strategic development of corporate healthcare programmes and provision of health risk consultancy.

Richard Munro, managing director of PMI Health Group said: “Having spent 10 years advising large corporate clients on employee health strategies, Julie is well versed in supporting and managing the needs of a business.”

RUPERT Thompson, a non-executive director at Lancashire brewer, hotels and pub operator Daniel Thwaites has stood down.

The Blackburn company said it had begun a process to recruit a new independent non-executive director to replace Mr Thompson, who  joined the board in September 2010.

INTELLECTUAL property and media lawyer Steve Kuncewicz has joined law firm Bermans after a short stint in-house with Boohoo.com the Manchester fashion label.

Mr Kuncewicz, who  previously worked for Cobbetts, Ralli and Gateley, joins Bermans’ Manchester office as an associate.

BURNLEY-based Wired Marketing, an email marketing software provider, has appointed Annmarie Whatmough as sales and marketing manager.

She brings with her a wealth of experience in this field, having worked in business development roles, for companies including Manchester’s I-com and Touch Local.

Miss Whatmough said of her new role: “Wired has a reputation for delivering successful strategies to clients and I am looking forward to driving this success into new and existing market places.”
