Shell puts Carrington site on the market

SHELL is selling a 670-hectare site close to the M60 at Carrington in Greater Manchester.

The land is designated in Trafford Council’s core strategy for a mixed-use development with 1,560 new homes and 75 hectares of land for economic development.

Agent Jones Lang LaSalle said it was one of “the most significant development and investment opportunities in the UK”.

Leader of Trafford Council Matt Colledge said: “The council has identified Carrington in its local plan and is looking forward to working with any new purchaser to deliver this opportunity.

“The council and the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) investment team will be supporting Shell and its selected purchaser throughout the process to bring forward this exciting development opportunity.”

John Lafferty, associate director for planning and development at Jones Lang LaSalle in Manchester is advising Shell.

The brownfield location is close to junction 8 of the M60.
