BAM lined up for £30m Salford University building

BAM Construction has been selected as preferred bidder for the £30m art and performance building at Salford University.

The 183,000 sq ft, seven-storey building at the Peel Park campus will be the new home for the Schools of music, performance, architecture and art and design.

It will include a theatre, recording studios, performance rooms, café, and teaching space.
 
BAM construction director, Ian Fleming said; “We are extremely pleased to have been selected as preferred bidder on this very important project for the University of Salford. We are looking forward to starting this project which has such high sustainability objectives”.

BAM will soon start the second stage of the procurement process with works due to start on site in late August and complete in August 2015.
 
The project team includes Stride Treglown Architects and Davis Langdon as project manager.
