Appointments: UKFast; Virtalis & more

LONG-SERVING UKFast employee George Frewer has been appointed to the new role of director of enterprise at the Manchester IT services company.
Mr Frewer has been with the fast-growing business for more than 10 years and progressed from roles including head of enterprise and enterprise solutions architect. UKFast Enterprise will be operate as a separate division to the UKFast brand.
He said: “Having been part of the UKFast family from the early days when we were a seven-man team, I’m honoured to now be heading up the new Enterprise division and embarking on a new adventure with the firm.”
UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones said: “The contribution George has made to the success of the company in the last decade cannot be overestimated. He has been instrumental in developing best-in-class enterprise solutions and more recently in heading up the enterprise sales team, leading by shining example.”

VIRTUAL reality software specialist Virtalis has made a key appointment, hiring Kim Bale as lead developer in its virtual reality development team.
Mr Bale was part of a team that digitally modelled Mount Rushmore and Sydney Opera House. He has also helped to create 3-D, head and neck visualisation software, which is being used by medical schools to train students.
Andrew Connell technical director at Sale-based Virtalis, commented: “Very few people come to us with any VR experience, so it is exciting to welcome someone not only with so much raw talent, but so much knowledge too”.
