Bacon to launch new Spinningfields venture

BAR and restaurant entrepreneur Tim Bacon is launching a new venture at Manchester’s Spinningfields.

His Living Ventures operation is set to open Artisan in a 12,000 sq ft space on the first floor of Avenue North next month.

Living Ventures already runs The Oast House, The Alchemist and Australasia at Spinningfields.

Artisan promises a “modestly priced, rustic menu” from two wood ovens. A press statement said, “The team of chefs will take cooking back to basics; with fresh, interesting ingredients cooked using age-old primal techniques, this is casual dining at its best”.

Living Ventures operates under a number of different brands, including eight Gustos, six under Blackhouse name, three Alchemists, three venues operating as the New World Pub Company, two Olives Presses and two Red Doors.

It also has three one-offs: Australasia, the Oast House and Suburbia. Another, Manchester House will be launched in the summer.
