Citizen journalism assignment for Apadmi

APADMI, the Manchester-based mobile software developer, has developed a new app that lets people submit content to a new platform launched by The Guardian newspaper.

Its Guardian Witness service will aim to harvest pictures, words and videos from readers, or “citizen journalists”, keen to cover live news or events.

Apadmi worked with The Guardian’s community publishing service n0tice on the app which is available for Android and iPhone.

Chief executive Garry Partington said: “The fact the global news cycle is now based on immediacy and interactivity means it fits perfectly with mobile and smartphone technology.
