Mediamix: Hotel deal for Pixel8; accolade for Swettenham, and more

MANCHESTER design agency Pixel8 is celebrating a deal which will see its brand management software being rolled out by the Radisson hotel chain across north and south America.

Pixel8, which is based in the city’s Northern Quarter, has secured an agreement for its Brandit system to be adopted at 150 Radisson hotels.

The company recently completed rebranding assignments for the Hotel Indigo and Crowne Plaza chains, which are part of the InterContinental Hotels Group.

Brandit enables hotel employees to access a website and produce customised marketing materials.

Pixel8 managing partner Jamie Watson said: “There are over 100 different pieces of artwork within a hotel, from door hangers to menus, and each and every one can be tailored to suit language, messaging and photography. Brandit also encourages the use of local promotions and campaigns.”

MANCHESTER-based marketing agency Clock Creative has rebranded Bury-based dancewear specialist Tappers & Pointers.

The new brand is being rolled out this month across all marketing material and on a new website.

Clock has focused on the firm’s commitment to supporting traditional craftsmen and high quality British manufacturing.

David Bailey, brand development manager at Clock said: “In a fiercely competitive marketplace, often characterised by throwaway fashion, it was clear that Tappers & Pointers needed to celebrate their points of difference – namely an insistence on high quality products and a real focus on their B2B trade customers.

“They have a real passion for what they do. Their products are handmade by skilled craftsmen and we felt this passion and authenticity should come across in the brand story. ‘Excellence at every step’ just about sums up what they are all about.”

Tappers & Pointers director Janet Ayres said: “Since we launched our business 25 years ago we’ve grown considerably and we wanted to put a strong brand plan in place to underpin the business going forward.”

JESSICA Swettenham, an account executive at MC2 public relations in Manchester has won the ‘Centurion’ award from the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS).

NABS was founded 100 years ago with a donation from the Daily Mail proprietor Lord Northcliffe to give career advice and support to those working in advertising.

To celebrate its centenary, NABS sought to identify and honour remarkable people in the industry and Swettenham was announced as the winner at an event in London. Her prize is a £2,000 training grant donated by Mail Newspapers.

Swettenham was selected for her strong commitment to social justice. She is involved in charity work and MC2 said she works closely with clients to help establish their social responsibility credentials.

Zoë Osmond, chief executive of NABS, said: “Our centurions are the present representatives of thousands of their predecessors who have shared NABS’ values for the last 100 years. We’re looking for remarkable people and our judging panel, made up of industry leaders from ITV, AMV BBDO and other leading advertising and media industry businesses, knew they’d found one in Jess.”
